Rectangular Premier Chuck
Fine pole permanent chuck for precision surface grinding
A magnetic chuck holds a steel workpiece flat on the machine table. Turn the lever and the part is locked down. There are no clamps in the way of the wheel, so the whole surface is ground in one pass and five faces stay open.
We make rectangular chucks for surface grinders and circular chucks for rotary grinders and lathes, with N35 neodymium magnets and a thick top plate that can be reground many times. Electromagnetic and multicoil chucks are built to customer sizes. The Maxx-Demag bench unit removes the magnetism left in a part after grinding.
Setting up takes seconds. The hold is the same across the whole plate, with no operator variation and no distortion from clamp pressure. The part cannot vibrate or move, so the finish is better and the wheel lasts longer.
A permanent chuck needs no power and cannot lose its hold in a power cut. Choose a fine pole pitch for small and thin parts, and a standard pitch for large parts. See our guide on choosing a magnetic chuck.
