The magnet for hot and steady work
Alnico is an alloy of aluminium, nickel and cobalt. It gives less pull than neodymium for the same size, and in return it keeps its strength close to heat and gives a field that hardly changes over the years.
That makes it the right choice for holding fixtures near welding and heat treatment, for instruments and sensors, and for test equipment. The threaded hole bolts the magnet straight to a plate or fixture.
