Overview - Alnico Deep Pot Magnets
When the shallow pot is not enough
A deep pot holds a taller magnet in a deeper steel shell. The field reaches further into the workpiece, so the pull on thick steel is higher than a shallow pot of the same diameter gives.
Deep pots are used for heavier clamping and fixtures in fabrication and machining, for holding tooling and jigs on steel frames, and near welding and heat treatment where the alnico core keeps its strength.
