Simple protection on a gravity line

Product falls through the grid. Every path between the rods passes within a few millimetres of a magnet face, so nails, wire, swarf and fine iron hold to the rods while the product carries on.

A one stage grid has a single row of rods. A two stage grid has two rows, offset, so nothing can fall straight through. Two stage grids are used where the particles are fine or the flow is fast.

Grids are lifted out for cleaning and wiped by hand. They are used at intake hoppers, above mixers and mills, and at bagging points in food, plastics, chemicals and minerals.

  • Square grids: 6 x 6, 8 x 8 and 12 x 12 inch ex stock; specials to drawing
  • Round grids: 10, 12, 15 and 24 inch and 350 mm diameters ex stock
  • Frame: 304 stainless steel, welded and polished; one-stage and two-stage lattices
  • Magnets: NdFeB grades N35 to N52, up to 11,000 gauss at the rod surface; ferrite versions available
  • Temperature limit: 100 deg C for rare earth rods
  • Supplied with a tested certificate of magnetic strength
