Gauss Meter
A hand-held meter for checking magnet strength
- Reads surface gauss on rods, grids, plates and chucks
- Confirms a separator still meets its certificate
- Gives auditors a number to record
- Same instrument we use to certify our own equipment
Overview - Gauss Meter
Proof that the magnets still work
Magnet strength falls if a separator is overheated or knocked hard. An audit needs a number, and the number should be compared with the tested certificate supplied with the unit.
Press the probe to the rod or plate face and read the meter. Log the figure against the certificate. We use the same meters to certify every separator that leaves the works, and supply them to customers who run their own yearly checks.
